It's SummaTIME!

Finally. Turned in my last paper today. I couldn't not be more overjoyed or exhausted!

So I made a wreath to celebrate.

I like to celebrate by making things. I also like to celebrate by making huge messes...
I wanted to "Organize my life" which evidently means tear everything down and try to figure out somewhere else to put it. My house is a disaster zone. Poor Calvin doesn't know what to think and I am overwhelmed and uninspired.

We also bought another desk from goodwill for the home office/guest bedroom we are creating. They wanted $40 but Bradley talked them down to $19.99... That's my man!
This is the before picture. I hope the "after" picture will come soon enough, but I don't like the color I painted it...uhoh. So we shall see what messes I will make this summer.

So, every room in our home is A MESS and under FRANSTRUCTION (yeah I think I'm clever). But hopefully it will all come together and be FRANTASTIC! Stay Tuned!

Flowers...the way to a girl's heart

There is nothing better than a bright colorful flower.

except maybe a lot of bright colorful flowers!

Or maybe a bright colorful edible flower on a cupcake topped with cream cheese frosting...just sayin... Way to a girl's heart.

Or, perhaps the way to a girl's heart is helping make 125+ of these bright colorful flowers, waking up at 6 a.m. to transport them to a fundraiser, taking pictures and assembling them. Perhaps?

Bradley, I do believe you are quite the amazing assistant. And you make a pretty darn cute cupcake.

I'm just sayin'.

Do you want to make your own? Here is my step-by-step tutorial. Check it.

Cinco De Mayo Dinner Party

I'm going to state the obvious...I haven't blogged in a really long time. I missed you, I really did.

I also missed cupcakes.

And chocolate.

And talking about cupcakes and chocolate.

You see, we got a panini maker. That was the start of the problem. Dinner was just too easy. Two slices of bread, a slice of cheddar, two slices of turkey...voila! A hot dinner, no dirty dishes, no work, no blog.

So after a month of eating panini's (I do not exaggerate, we have gone through a lot of bread, cheese and meat), I decided it was time for a hot dinner. And since my favorite holiday was approaching, a Cinco De Mayo party was an easy choice! This party is what my beautiful fiestaware were made for! I was happy to see them so happy.

I'm not gonna lie, I like details. For me, that is (half) the fun have throwing a party.
Can you say fiesta?
And then there is the food...MEXICAN food! Oh my goodness, you can't go wrong throwing a dinner party on Cinco De Mayo. Fool proof.
If I had to choose one food to live on the rest of my life (besides chocolate) it would be chips and salsa.
And the great thing about this salsa is that it is soooooo easy!

Easiest Homemade Salsa Eva
(secret family recipe)

-2 cans of Del Monte Diced Tomatoes with Green Chiles
-1 Onion
-1 Bunch Cilantro
-1 (4 oz) can of Green Chiles (Optional)

In a food processor chop onions and cilantro. Pour the 2 cans of tomatoes (and extra green chiles) into a blender, whiz for a couple seconds. Combine all ingredients and salt to taste! Refrigerate for a couple hours.

This salsa is best fresh. It doesn't last more than a couple days.
