It's a Baby Shower!

I love showers! They are a themed and girly event that I cannot resist. I had the honor of helping plan a baby shower for my dear friend.

I had so much fun making these heart shaped cookies. The lace design was much easier than I had anticipated. Sweet Sugar Belle provides a great tutorial for this pattern.

Drinking out of mason jars with pink paper straws completes a shower experience, in my opinion.

Craft time! Onesie decorating!

We welcomed the sweet baby girl in style!

Ideas on How To Top a Cupcake

You can personalize any cupcake for a special event with a handmade cupcake topper. It's cute and easy way to add detail when royal icing, sugar gum paste and fondant fail you.

These zebra print bow ties were created for a dear friend's engagement party. They celebrate the coming together of her sense of style and his sense of style.

Here are some other ideas to top your adorable creations...
Get crafty with paper - Heart-Toppers

Use fruit to create a memorable topper- Pineapple Flowers

Create a twist on a fun drink and stick a straw in it- pink lemonade

Decorate with candy - Merry little cupcake

If you have a little extra time you can graduate to candy melt creations -Flowers, butterflies, fireworks

How do you top your cupcake?

Setting a Thanksgiving Table

One of my favorite things in life is sitting around a pretty table with great friends and delicious food. I am most certain that when we get to heaven we will dine at a banqueting table (Isaiah 25:6-9) that has not only delicious food and the most wonderful company, but will be beautifully set.

For me, planning a party is all in the details. From the burlap silverware pouches to the wine cork place card holders. I love details, its what makes a good party a great party...that and the company!

How are you setting your Thanksgiving table?

Filter Friday: Thankful for the Small Things

It's been a great week, full of food and fall fun.
As we start the month of November and rapidly approach Thanksgiving I want to have a thankful heart.

It seems to me that we move to quickly from Halloween to Christmas and never take the time to enjoy a season of Thanksgiving.
I want to slow down. I want to enjoy the small things.

I want to stop in the busyness and be thankful. Thankful for silly friends, coffee breaks, decorated cookies, and the opportunity to vote.

Today, I want to be thankful for the small things.

Happy Reformation Day

It's fall and I haven't carved a pumpkin, eaten candy corn, roasted marshmallows or even had a pumpkin spice latte. I've blamed my lack of fall spirit on the hot Florida weather. But I can't use that excuse anymore, no no! Because, my friends we are having a cold front. Right now it is a cool 70 degrees outside, my air condition has stopped running for the first time since April, I broke out my fancy pant boots and I'm rockin' an infinity scarf. It got so cold here in the sunshine state that I wore socks to bed last night...that's pretty darn cold.

So, since I'm wearing socks, scarves and boots, why not decorate pumpkin cookies?

Happy Fall to All! (And specifically, Happy Reformation Day!)
